options-payoff
Generate an interactive options payoff curve chart with dynamic parameter controls. Use this skill whenever the user shares an options position screenshot, describes an options strategy, or asks to visualize how an options trade makes or loses money. Triggers include: any mention of butterfly, spread (vertical/calendar/diagonal/ratio), straddle, strangle, condor, covered call, protective put, iron condor, or any multi-leg options structure. Also triggers when a user pastes strike prices, premiums, expiry dates, or says things like "show me the payoff", "draw the P&L curve", "what does this trade look like", or uploads a screenshot from a broker (IBKR, TastyTrade, Robinhood, etc). Always use this skill even if the user only provides partial info — extract what you can and use defaults for the rest.

Options Payoff - Interactive Options Payoff Curve Visualization Tool
Overview of Skills
Options Payoff is an interactive payoff-curve generation tool built specifically for options trading. It can automatically extract information from an options screenshot or a strategy description and generate animated charts showing both expiration payoff and theoretical value.
Use Cases
1. Options Strategy Analysis
Before placing an options trade, quickly visualize the strategy’s profit/loss structure. Whether you’re using a simple long call/put or a complex multi-leg strategy like an Iron Eagle or a Butterfly Spread, you can generate clear payoff curves in one click to understand maximum profit, maximum loss, and breakeven points.
2. Smart Parsing of Options Screenshots
When you share a screenshot of your options positions from a broker platform (such as IBKR, TastyTrade, or Robinhood), the tool automatically recognizes key details like strike prices, premium paid/received, expiration dates, and more—saving you the hassle of manual entry.
3. Options Teaching and Learning
For beginners learning options trading, intuitive payoff curves are the best way to understand the characteristics of options strategies. By dynamically adjusting parameters such as IV and DTE, you can see how these variables affect the option’s theoretical value, deepening your understanding of option pricing.
Core Features
1. Smart Strategy Recognition
Supports automatic recognition and payoff calculation for more than 10 common options strategies, including:
2. Dual-Curve Display
Shows two key curves at the same time:
This dual-curve design helps you understand how time value and volatility influence the option’s current value.
3. Dynamic Parameter Control
Provides a full interactive control panel to adjust in real time:
FAQs
How do I interpret the options payoff curve?
The Y-axis of the payoff curve shows the profit/loss amount (in dollars), and the X-axis shows the underlying asset price. The area above the curve is the profit region (green fill), and the area below is the loss region (red fill). The point where the curve intersects the X-axis is the breakeven point. The solid line shows the current theoretical value, while the dashed line shows the actual payoff at expiration.
Which options strategies are supported?
The tool supports all major single-leg and multi-leg strategies, including: butterfly spread, all types of spreads (vertical/calendar/diagonal/ratio), straddles, strangles, Iron Eagle, covered calls, protective puts, and more. For custom strategies not listed, you can use the “Custom” mode—decompose the strategy into individual legs, calculate each leg separately, and then sum them.
How do I extract options information from a screenshot?
Just share a screenshot of your options positions from your broker platform. The tool will automatically recognize: strategy type (from the title or leg descriptions), strike price, premium, expiration date, underlying asset current price, and implied volatility (estimated from the Greeks panel or Vega). If any information can’t be recognized, the tool will use reasonable default values, and you can fine-tune them manually with sliders after generation.
